The sustainable transformation of our economy requires new types of companies.
That’s why we decided to build Future Maps in a truly community-driven way and founded the Future Cooperative eG.
Collectively, we set our long term goals and ensure our three fundamental principles:
Sustainable Impact
as overall goal
Sustainability information for every place on the map, based on our very own Future Rating.
Forever Independent
Structured as a cooperative (dt. “Genossenschaft”), we can never be sold to investors and are not profit-oriented.
Owned by our users
Our users own 100% of the company.
We welcome everyone to join our cooperative as a member and become a co-owner of Future Maps.

Coopera.. whaat?
Three quick questions to our founder Simon
How does it work?
» Members of a cooperative are its owners. They are invited to the annual general assembly, where they can vote on the management and future direction of the cooperative. However, it’s also fine to remain a passive member. «
How do I join the cooperative?
To join a cooperative, you formally purchase at least one share, called a “deposit.” At Future, this is done easily through the membership form. One share costs €10. You can also buy additional shares to help fund Future, for example, for software development. This is more like an investment than a donation, and if you cancel your membership, your deposit is returned after two years.
Is Future Cooperative a Non-Profit?
If the cooperative makes a profit, the general meeting can decide to distribute it to members based on the number of shares they hold. Unlike other companies, each person in the cooperative has one vote, no matter how many shares they own.
